FLORENCE, S.C. – The Chowan University women's soccer team came up just short in a 3-2 road battle against Francis Marion on Saturday afternoon. After trailing at the half, the Hawks surged in the second period with a pair of goals to cut the deficit, but the Patriots held on for the narrow win. Saturday's loss moves the Hawks to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play, while Francis Marion improves to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in league action.
