MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Following week eight of competition, Conference Carolinas announced its Women's Soccer Players of the Week on Tuesday morning. Chowan's
Kylee Smith earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for her standout performance in goal. This marks her second time earning the honor this season, having previously received the accolade in week five. The Offensive Player of the Week award went to Ferrum College.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kylee Smith was solid in goal for the Hawks, helping Chowan to a pair of 1–0 victories last week. She collected six saves to secure the shutout against UNC Pembroke on Tuesday, October 21, and followed with eight saves in Saturday's 1–0 win over North Greenville on October 25. Smith has now recorded six shutouts on the season and continues to be a key presence for the Hawks, ranking second in Conference Carolinas in total saves, third in shutouts per game, and fourth in saves per game.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Breanna Herlihy | Ferrum | Midfield/Forward | Sophomore | Frankfort, Illinois
Herlihy posted a pair of goals and an assist to help lead the Panthers to a 2-0 mark last week. She scored the tying goal in the 78th minute and then had an assist on the game-winning goal in the 86th minute during Ferrum's 2-1 win October 21 at Barton. She then had the game-winning goal in the 53rd minute of Ferrum's 1-0 win October 25 at Shorter.
