MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan men's soccer team played to a thrilling 3-3 draw against the University of Mount Olive on Wednesday afternoon. Junior Smith shone brightly for the Hawks, netting a hat trick to help secure the tie. With this result, the Hawks now hold a record of 1-3-2 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play. Meanwhile, the Trojans move to 1-3-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the conference after the match.

Junior Smith netted all 3 of the Hawks goals for the night. His first goal came in the 7th minute, setting the tone for the match, while the other two followed shortly after. Hlynur Fridriksson set Smith up with a service into the box to gain the assist on the first goal of the contest. 

The Hawks' second goal arrived in the 47th minute of the second half, showcasing a combination between Junior Smith and Bradley Binns. Smith finished the play, finding the back of the net, following a perfectly timed assist from Binns.

The Hawks secured a crucial goal in the 64th minute, as Smith completed his hat trick. With an assist from Charley Leech, Smith found the back of the net once again, leveling the match and ensuring a draw for Chowan.

Chase Jansen played all 90 minutes in frame for the Hawks, allowing 3 goals and getting 3 saves.
