MURFREESBORO, N.C. – For the first time in program history, the Chowan Women's Lacrosse team started the season with a win as the Hawks used a strong second half to take down Montreat on Saturday afternoon.

The win marks the first for Head Coach Chris Harris.
Grace Taylor led the Hawks with five goals and two assists. Blake Tutman recorded her first collegiate hat-trick with four goals and one assist. Victoria Brown added four goals and one assist.
Charity Brown and Natalie Savage tallied two goals each. Brown added a team-high three assists. Cameryn Barrow and Gracie Timken chipped in with one goal each. Barrow and Sarai Sanders added an assist.
Ariel Johnson picked up the win in goal with 10 saves. Blake Tutman added 12 draw controls, while Victoria Brown, Natalie Savage, and Gracie Timken collected four caused turnovers each.

Chowan takes on St. Andrews on Saturday, February 17. Opening draw control is slated for 12pm.
