MURFREESBORO, N.C. — The Hawks secured a 3-1 victory against Barton at the Bulldogs Athletic Complex in Wilson, N.C. The Chowan men's soccer team moves to 8-4-3 overall and 7-2-2 in Conference Carolinas play. The Bulldogs fall to 7-4-2 overall and 4-4-2 in conference.Â

The Hawks entered halftime with a narrow 2-1 lead, courtesy of goals from Robbie Deighan and Junior Smith. The early momentum was set by Deighan's goal at 11:33, followed by Smith's strike at 35:18. Moving into the second period, Matty Doyle added the third goal at 70:29, sealing the win for Chowan University. Contributions also came from Sam Deacon, Jeevan Purewal, and Charley Leech, who each recorded assists.
Chowan's goalkeeper, Chase Jansen, played the entire 90 minutes for the Hawks while allowing just one goal and making a key save.
