BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - On Sunday afternoon, the top-seeded Chowan University men's soccer team squared off against the third-seeded Francis Marion in the 2024 Conference Carolinas Championship. After a hard-fought 90 minutes, the Hawks were defeated 1-0, earning the title of Conference Carolinas runners-up.

The Patriots struck early, taking the lead in the 2nd minute when John Osadolor fired a left-footed shot from 17 yards out, placing the ball into the right side of the net.

Francis Marion recorded 12 total shots, while Chowan managed just 2 attempts throughout the match. The Hawks only two shots came from defender Matty Doyle

Chowan's Chase Jansen played the full 90 minutes in goal, making a save for the Hawks.
