MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan women's soccer team secured a 2-1 victory over Emmanuel on Saturday afternoon. This conference win elevates the Hawks to 3-5-1 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play, while the Lions fall to 1-7 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

The scoring opened with Abigail Simon netting a goal in the 38th minute, with an assist from Laura Hulme. The next goal came just a few minutes later when Hulme found the back of the net herself in the 43rd minute, with the assist from Simon. The Lions answered in the 82nd minute with a goal from Veronica Calixto, assisted by Kate-Lynn Jimenez. The Hawks finished the game with 19 shots compared to the Lions with 11 shots on the day.
Kirsten Peterson spent the whole 90 minutes in the net for Chowan.
