MURFREESBORO, N.C. - In a decisive victory, the West Florida football team showcased their dominance with a 35-6 win over Chowan University on October 19, 2024, during their conference game at Garrison Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

From the outset, West Florida took control of the game, leading with a halftime score of 28-6. Key contributions from Marcus Stokes, who threw three touchdown passes, TJ Lane with a rush touchdown, and Zac Offord with a receiving touchdown, were instrumental in securing the win. Additionally, Jay Sharp added to the lead with an 11-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter.

Chowan's efforts included Matthew Conord's field goals of 31 and 22 yards. Despite their attempts to rally, the Hawk's offensive drives were largely stifled by West Florida's solid defense. Notably, Will Breland and Adam Aiken led the defensive efforts with crucial tackles and sacks, greatly disrupting Chowan's offense.

The special teams performance by Tyler Patterson for West Florida was flawless with 5 made PATs, contributing to the team's strong scoring finish. Meanwhile, Matthew Conord for Chowan managed to nail both of his field goal attempts, providing the only points for the Hawk.
