BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team fell short in their season opener after conceding two goals in the opening 15 minutes in a 2-0 loss to Lincoln Memorial in the opening contest of the Shope Classic.

The Hawks struggled to find offense in the opening half of play registering three shots without putting one on target.

Chase Jansen collected three saves in the contest.  The defensive unit held the Railsplitters off the scoreboard for the final 76'.

Junior Smith led the Hawks with two shots on goal.
