MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team could not sustain the first half battle as the Hawks were handed a 17-11 loss against North Greenville at home in league play on Saturday.

Victoria Brown led the Hawks with seven points including four goals and three assists. Trinity Walker and Grace Taylor contributed three goals and one assist each. Rebekah Lucas tallied one goal.
Chowan trailed 8-6 at the half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Victoria Brown put the Hawks on the board early in the opening frame on a free-position goal. Trinity Walker offset the Crusaders' goals putting the Hawks up 3-2. NGU evened the score before the second stanza.
NGU would take a 5-3 lead before Victoria Brown scored an unassisted goal. Grace Taylor would add a goal before Brown found Trinity Walker for a score.
The Crusaders would take an 8-6 advantage into the halftime whistle.
NGU scored four straight goals to open the second half to lead 12-6. Rebekah Lucas scored off an assist by Victoria Brown before Grace Taylor scored to trim the deficit to 12-8.
Grace Taylor found the back of the net off an assist by Trinity Walker before NGU pushed their lead to 14-9 in the fourth quarter.
Victoria Brown scored off a free-position before recording the final goal for the Hawks off an assist from Grace Taylor.
