KANSAS CITY, MO. – The United Soccer Coaches Association (USCA) announced on Thursday the College Team Academic Award winners, recognized for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year.

The Chowan Men's and Women's Soccer program posted above a 3.0 team GPA to earn the USCA Team Academic Award.  Under Coach Chris Whalley, the men posted a 3.12 team GPA, making the list for the fifth time.  For Coach Fernando Zuniga, the women posted a 3.06 team GPA, for their fourth consecutive season on the list.

This marks the third time that both programs have earned the Team Academic Award at the same time (2018, 2019, 2021).

Among Conference Carolinas programs, Chowan and Lees-McRae were the only league schools to feature both programs on the Team Academic Award.
