MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team delivered a 3-1 victory on Senior Day against King in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

Lillian DeLucca posted one goal and one assist to lead the Hawks. Destiny Makanjuola and Natasha Bailey added a goal apiece. Cristina Flores collected two assists.
Kirsten Peterson and Gracie Ross posted three saves each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Regan Jackson started off the attack with a shot off the crossbar in the fourth minute. Chowan would get on the board as Destiny Makanjuola headed home the corner kick from Cristina Flores in the 11'.
Chowan continued to push shots towards goal as Regan Jackson had two shots saved and Destiny Makanjuola had one saved.
Kirsten Peterson posted one save in the opening half in the 43' as the Hawks went into the intermission with a 1-0 lead.
Second Half:
King posted two shots on frame in the early portion of the half that was turned away by Kirsten Peterson. Natasha Bailey had a shot saved in the 68'.
The Tornado found the equalizer in the 70' off a free kick to even the match at 1-all.
The score would not stay level long as Natasha Bailey finished off the corner kick by Lillian DeLucca in the 74' to lead 2-1. DeLucca would find the back of the net in the 78' off the assist by Cristina Flores on a free kick to put the Hawks up 3-1.
Gracie Ross entered the contest in the 81' in goal and was promptly busy making three saves over the next four minutes.
UP NEXT
Chowan secured the eighth seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship. The Hawks will travel to Belmont, N.C. to take on Belmont Abbey, fifth seed, in the opening round on Wednesday, October 26. First touch is slated for 7pm.
