HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Coker on a late goal in non-conference action on Thursday afternoon.

London Williams netted his first goal of the season.
Charlie Farrar posted four saves in goal. The Hawks were outshot 14-10 overall but a 6-5 deficit in on target attempts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Erik Ruiz nearly put the Hawks on the board in the 10' as his shot was denied by the Cobra keeper. London Williams tried to clean up the attempt but was denied as well.
Coker would go on the counter attack to find the opening goal of the match in the 13'.
Both teams had opportunities that would stray away from the goal.
The Cobras took a 1-0 lead into the locker room.
Second Half:
Chowan would go on the attack early in the second half as London Williams attempt off a corner kick would be denied and force another corner. Harri Lovett would send another corner into the box finding Williams once again. Williams would collect the ball and deposit it into the back of the net for the equalizer in the 57'.
In the 78', James Randall had an attempt denied by the Cobra's keeper.
Coker would find the eventual game-winner in the 83' to lead 2-1.
Despite the Hawks having the man-advantage for the final six minutes of the match, Chowan was unable to find the momentum to equalize again.

Chowan will continue their road trip in South Carolina as the Hawks face nationally-ranked Lander on Sunday, September 5. The Hawks will take on the Bearcats at Francis Marion. Match is slated for 7pm.
