Hawks Soccer Set To Tussle With Crusaders

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Soccer teams open up the Conference Carolinas slate with a home match against North Greenville on Saturday.

WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTES

Chowan enters the weekend with a 0-2-0 overall record after two strong contests to start the year against nationally-ranked Concord and Limestone.

Carolina Lucci leads the team with the lone goal on the season.  Allison Traub has made 17 saves so far this season including 10 against Limestone.

The Hawks were selected to finish fourth in the Conference Carolinas according to the league's preseason poll.

CAPTURING THE CRUSADERS

North Greenville enters the contest with a 0-1-2 overall record and coming off a draw against nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday.  NGU was picked to finish third in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll.

The Crusaders are led by Megan Biehl, Romee Contreras, and Shelby Shepherd with one goal each.  Defending Conference Carolinas Player and Freshman of the Year, Faith Knoedler, returns for the Crusaders.

MEN'S SOCCER UPDATES

Chowan opens their home slate with a 1-1-0 overall record and receiving votes in the USCA poll.  The Hawks are coming off a 2-1 upset win over nationally-ranked Lander last weekend.

The Blue and White are led by Toby Sims with two goals.  Harri Lovett, 2021 spring league leader in assists, paces the Hawks with two assists.

The Hawks were selected to finish second in the preseason poll.

KNOWING THE CRUSADERS

North Greenville enters the contest with a 1-1-0 overall record and coming off a 1-0 loss to Limestone on Tuesday.

Luis Lezama and Kalvin Semedo lead the Crusaders with one goal each.  NGU was selected to finish sixth in the league's preseason poll.
