Hawks Women's Soccer Poised For Semifinals

MURFREESBORO, N.C. – For the third time in four seasons, the Chowan Women's Soccer team makes an appearance in the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship Semifinal as the Hawks square off with Mount Olive on Friday in Florence, S.C.

  • Last Game: Chowan defeated Barton 2-0 to advance to the Semifinals.
  • The Hawks posted their fourth straight shutout.
  • Sabrina Henderson, Sydney Henderson, and Allison Traub lead the Hawks as First Team All-Conference selections.
  • Michelle Makisomovic (2nd Team) along with Sierra Gonzalez (3rd Team) and Sabine Felix (3rd Team) bolster the Hawks.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE CAROLINAS

Conference Carolinas has a rich tradition in roots that dates back to its inception on Dec. 6, 1930. The NCAA Division II athletics conference presently has member schools located in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Member institutions for the upcoming 2020-21 athletic year are Barton, Belmont Abbey, Chowan, Converse, Emmanuel, Erskine, King, Lees-McRae, Mount Olive, North Greenville and Southern Wesleyan.

Conference Carolinas will feature 11 members in the 2020-21 academic year before expanding to 13 teams for the 2021-22 academic year with the addition of Francis Marion and UNC Pembroke.
