BRISTOL, TENN. – The Chowan Women's Soccer team collected a 3-0 shutout victory against King in the regular season finale on Sunday afternoon in Conference Carolinas action.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

Carolina Lucci collected two goals in the contest to move her to 10 on the season and 49 in her career.  Lucci sits in fifth among active Division II women's soccer players in career goals.

Sabrina Henderson notched her 10th goal of the season.  Henderson also posted an assist.  Sierra Gonzalez and Rhianna Ballard recorded an assist.

Allison Traub posted her fourth shutout of the season while adding three saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half:

King posted a shot on frame in the opening minute of the contest forcing a save from Allison Traub.

On the first shot attempt of the contest for the Hawks, Carolina Lucci deposited a through ball from Sierra Gonzalez into the back of the net in the ninth minute to lead 1-0.

Michelle Maksimovic, Cristina Flores, and Sierra Gonzalez posted a shot on frame that was turned away before the halftime whistle.

Second Half:

Sabrina Henderson notched a pair of shots on frame in the early portion of the half but was turned away.

The Hawks would break through with a goal in the 77' as Sabrina Henderson played a through ball from the left side of the pitch allowing Carolina Lucci to beat the keeper 1v1 for the 2-0 advantage.

Sabrina Henderson posted a goal in the 89' finding the back of the net off an assist from Rhianna Ballard.

UP NEXT

Chowan claims the seventh seed in the Conference Carolinas Women's Soccer Championship.  The Hawks will take on Barton on Wednesday in the opening round.  Projected start time of the match is at 7pm.
