BELMONT, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team was handed a 19-3 loss in Conference Carolinas road action on Saturday afternoon against Belmont Abbey.

Tashana Barnett and Misten White tallied goals for the Hawks as Barnett led the team with two goals.
Jordan Nicholson registered an assist. Mallory Dunker recorded 14 saves in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half:
Jordan Nicholson tallied the first shot on goal for the Hawks midway through the opening half but was saved.
Belmont Abbey would take an 11-0 lead into the locker room.
Second Half:
Tashana Barnett had a free position shot saved. Lela Knight posted a free position shot but was also saved.
Belmont Abbey led 18-0 before Misten White found the back of the net on a woman-up goal off an assist from Jordan Nicholson.
Tashana Barnett tallied a free position goal to cut the deficit to 19-2 with 2:15 remaining. Barnett found the back of the net in the final seconds to trail 19-3.
