MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan Women's Tennis team claimed their first win of the season with a close 4-3 battle against Belmont Abbey on Saturday afternoon.

Doubles:
Chowan would sweep the Crusaders to take the doubles point.
Singles:
Arina Karbolina in the No. 2 singles position picked up the first set and had to battle back to win the point in the third set. Karbolina would take the victory in the third 6-4. Stephanie Fernandez would go on to win 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 in three sets.
Margarita Lopareva finished out the day with a dominant performance 6-4, 6-0 for Chowan.
