RICHMOND, VA. – The Chowan Women's Bowling team concluded day one of the CIAA Event II in Richmond after a two month layoff.

INSIDE THE LANES
Chowan started off the event strong despite the overall scores going in favor of the opponent. Baylee Laxton led the team with a day one average of 141.3. Laxton produced a 156 against Virginia Union and a 167 against Elizabeth City State.
Deja King rolled a 129 in the loss against Elizabeth City State before notching a career-high 140 in the final game of the day against Bowie State. King finished second on the team with an average of 121.5.
Nia Foy was consistent on the afternoon with a 112.5 average. Foy rolled a high of 122 in the loss to Bowie State.
The Hawks knocked down a total of 2,321 on the afternoon.
