DUE WEST, S.C.-The Chowan Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed in the Flying Fleet Invitational on Saturday morning. The Hawks took home sixth and seventh place respectively.

ON THE COURSE
For the Men:
Host Erskine took home the title for the men after posting a team score of 37. Bob Jones followed in second after recording a 57 team score while, Spartanburg Methodist finished in third place overall.
The Hawks completed the race in seventh place as a team. Leading Chowan was
Rayvon McKoy who ran a 36:33.4 to finish in 39
th overall. McKoy averaged a 7:21.2 minute mile on Saturday.
Kevin Taylor clocked a 36:42.5 for the Blue and White to cross the line in 41
st place. Taylor averaged a 7:23.0 minute mile for the Hawks.
Rounding out the scoring for Chowan was
Timofey Tokmakov and
Adi Kaliakperov finished in 48
th and 50
th place respectively.
For the Women:
Erskine won the meet as a team after posting a 25 team score. Bob Jones collected 60 points to finish in second overall while, Lander secured a third place finish.Â
Pacing Chowan was
Lela Knight who clocked a time of 29:21.1 in the meet. Knight averaged a 7:52.3 minute mile to finish in top-20.
Following Knight was teammate
Elizabeth Stokes who recorded a 33:35.1 on the day. Stokes finished in 34
th overall after averaging a 9:00.4 minute mile for the Hawks.
Also competing for the Blue and White was
Keyera Wilkerson, who posted a 42:45.3 6k on Saturday.
Eryka Harrison and
Ravine Billy rounded out the scoring for Chowan with a 49
th and 50
th place finish respectively.

The Hawks are back in action on October 5 when they run in the Charleston Classic in Charleston, W.Va.
