RALEIGH, N.C.-The Chowan Women's Tennis team was unable to overcome the Lady Bears of Shaw 4-3, in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.

ON THE COURTS
In Doubles:
The Hawks secured the No.1 doubles match 6-0 with seniors, Cynthia Carrier and Angelique Gouin.

Arina Karbolina and Julieta Lecce kept the momentum at the No.2 doubles position with a 6-4 win for the Blue and White.

Shaw claimed the third doubles match by a default from Chowan.

In Singles:
The Hawks led the match with 1-0 lead into singles play. Cynthia Carrier took home the No.1 singles 6-0, 6-4 win before Arina Karbolina fell 6-3, 6-2 at the No.2 singles match.

At the third singles match, Julieta Lecce beat her opponent 6-1, 6-2 while teammate, Angelique Gouin slipped 6-2, 6-4 at the No.4 singles position.

The Lady Bears grabbed the No.5 and No.6 singles matches by default from the Hawks.

UP NEXT
The Hawks conclude their 2019 season with a 3-16 overall record and 3-8 in the league. Chowan will return to play in the fall of 2019.
