FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.-The Chowan Women's Bowling team posted a 1-3 record on opening day of the CIAA Event III hosted by Fayetteville State on Friday evening.

ON THE SCORECARDS
Leading the Hawks on the lanes was
Baylee Laxton who posted a 155.00 bowling average and 183 team high in the third match of the day.
Raven Finley-Flowers and
Kailah Herbin bowled a 130.40 and 129.40 average respectively for the Blue and White.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Hawks fell in their first match 602-693 to the Panthers of Virginia Union with
Baylee Laxton recording a 162 for Chowan. Â
The Hawks recovered in their second match with a 693-592 victory over Elizabeth City State.
Raven Finley-Flowers lifted Chowan over with a 170 team high, while teammate
Baylee Laxton bowled a 150 for the Blue and White.
Bowie State handed the Hawks their second loss by a score of 1000-635 before falling to Virginia State 891-570.
