CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Bowling team opened the first day of the CIAA Event I with a 0-4 record hosted by Johnson. C. Smith on Friday afternoon.

Baylee Laxton led the team with a 160.7 average with a team high of 167 in the final match against Bowie State while teammate
Jasmine Basnight posted a 101 day one average for the Hawks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Chowan dropped the opening match 526-551 to Elizabeth City State.
Baylee Laxton led the Hawks in the match with a score of 156 while
Jasmine Basnight followed after posting a 113 for the Blue and White.
Virginia State handed the Hawks their second loss of the event by a score of 507-668.
Chowan was unable to recover in the third match off the day with a 591-699 loss to Virginia Union before falling to Bowie State with a 480–641 final score.
