MURFREESBORO, N.C.-The Chowan Women's Bowling team is set to open their 2019-20 season in Charlotte, N.C. at the CIAA Event I hosted Johnson C. Smith.

HAWKS PROFILE
The CIAA in conjunction with the Bowling Coaches Association announced the 2019-20 Bowling Predicted Order of Finish with the Hawks picked to finish seventh overall with Bowie State as the top bowling contender this year.
The Hawks concluded their 2018-19 season with a 12-39 overall record.
Chowan will be returning Hampton, Va. native,Â
Baylee Laxton who recorded a 150.02 season average after knocking down 6,001 pins.
Also, returning for the Hawks isÂ
Jasmine Basnight who posted an average game pin fall of 110.25 and 2,082 pin count, whileÂ
Deja King recorded a total pin count of 3,040 for the 18-19 season, averaging 101.3 a game.
CIAA EVENT I
Chowan will begin play on Friday, November 8 in match play against conference opponents Virginia State, Virginia Union, Bowie State, and Elizabeth City State. Teams will continue match play through Saturday and conclude the tournament on Sunday November 11 in Baker Play. Â
