MOUNT OLIVE, N.C.-The Chowan Men's and Women's Cross Country teams wrapped up their 2019 season at the Men's and Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks placed 11th and 12th place respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
For the Men:
The host Mount Olive took home the 2019 Men's Championship title after posting a team score of 15. Emmanuel followed in second place with a 70, while Lees-McRae placed third overall.
The Hawks finished in 11th place overall after recording a 334 as a team.
Leading the field was Tai Smith from Mount Olive who ran a 25:42.4 in the Championships.
Timofey Tokmakov paced Chowan with a race time of 33:59.0. Tokmakov averaged a 6:36.3 minute mile to finish in 75th overall.
Following Tokmakov, was senior
Kevin Taylor who crossed the line in 33:59.0, while
Rayvon McKoy posted a time of 34:30.3 for the Hawks.
Also competing for the Blue and White was
Dragan Omcikus and
Adi Kaliakperov who finished in 81st and 82nd place respectively.
For the Women:
King won the title on the women's side with a 64 team score. Erskine earned second place after they posted a 70 team score, while Southern Wesleyan grabbed third place.
Chowan posted 342 points as a team to finish in 12th place.
Mount Olive's Leah Hanle won the individual results after she ran a 21:23.8 in the Championships.
Pacing the Hawks was
Lela Knight who recorded a 27:39.3 to finish in 48th overall. Knight averaged a 7:24.9 minute mile for the Blue and White.
Elizabeth Stokes crossed the line in 30:34.5 for Chowan to place 76 overall while
Keyera Wilkerson ran a 39:17.4 in the Championships.
Rounding out the scoring for the Hawks was
Eryka Harrison and
Ravine Billy.
