HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan earned their first win of the season after dominating Southern Wesleyan at home, 5-1, on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks moved to 1-2-0 on the early season.
Sabrina Henderson, recently named Conference Carolinas Player of the Week, leads the team with five goals. Henderson scored a program best four goals in the win against SWU. Carolina Lucci is second on the team with one goal but leads the team with three assists.
LEASHING THE BULLDOGS
Wingate is 4-1-1 on the season and comes off back-to-back shutout performances against Mars Hill and Tusculum.
Colleen Zickert and Dayna Marshall pace the Bulldogs with three goals each. Netminder Abbey Frail is allowing 0.96 goals per contest this season.
Men's Soccer
HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan moved to 2-1-1 on the season after grinding out a 2-1 win over Southern Wesleyan on Saturday at home. The Hawks are 0-0-1 on the road this season with the lone match against Wingate in a double overtime draw.
Denis Roule and Trevin Myers lead the Hawks with two goals apiece. Six different Hawks have registered a goal this season. Mitchell Levi Lewis leads the team with four assists. Elliot Chadderton is allowing 0.91 goals per contest so far this season.
Chowan defeated Newberry last season in Murfreesboro, 2-0.
WILD WOLVES
Newberry is 3-4-1 on the season and 2-2-0 at home. The Wolves are coming off a 5-2 loss to Lenoir-Rhyne in South Atlantic Conference action on Saturday.
Ibrahim Nadir has found the back of the net three times to lead Newberry. Nadir has also assisted on two goals to lead the team.
The Wolves have allowed 2.42 goals this season, while scoring 1.21 goals.
