MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The weather was not friendly for the Chowan Women's Soccer team as the match against Shaw was delayed for more than an hour and later suspended early in the second half due to lightning.

Both sides weren't able to find the back of the net as Chowan and Shaw went into the locker room with 5:49 remaining in the first half in a scoreless match because of lightning.

Chowan held the advantage in the shot column 6-1 with two shots on goal.  The lone shot for the Bears was wide of the mark.

Play was suspended in the 49' once again because of lightning.  Resumption of play for the match has yet to be determined.

Chowan returns to the pitch on September 8 as the Hawks host Limestone in the Conference Carolinas opener.  First touch is at 1pm.
