MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. -The Chowan Men's and Women's Cross Country team kicked off their 2018 season at the Mount Olive Twilight on Friday evening finish in fourth on both sides.

HOW IT HAPPENED
For the Men:
Jalen Thomas led the Hawks with a time of 32:47.5 for his season opener and a 28th overall finish. Thomas fought the mud averaging a 6:35.9 minute mile.
Teammate
Kevin Taylor finished close behind with a 32:56.3 8k, averaging a 6:37.6 minute mile.
George Kattan crossed the finish line in 35:30.6, while
Traceton Robinson posted a 44:56.4 course time to finish 33rd overall.
Brendon Sellars rounded out the scoring for the Blue and White with a 47:25.1 season opener.
For the Women:
Lela Knight conquered the weather with a time of 27:21.2, 6k, for a career best. Knight finished in the top 20 averaging a 7:20.0 minute mile.
Elizabeth Stokes finished 27th overall for the Blue and White with a 33:46.9 finish.
Deja King also competed for Chowan posting a time of 36:08.4 while
Genesis Oliver finished 30th overall after recording a time of 37:33.9.
Maresa Caceres rounded out the scoring for the Hawks with a time of 39:06.7.
