ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – The Chowan Bowling team hosted the 2018 CIAA Event III in Rocky Mount, N.C. The Hawks notched a 1-2 record on the opening day Friday evening.

Kailah Herbin led the Hawks with a 146.20 average with a team high and season best of 190 in the fourth match.
Freshman,
Baylee Laxton recorded a 141.0 average after carding a 170 personal best in the fourth match of the day.
Raven Finley-Flowers posted a 139.50 for Chowan with a match high 137 in the final match of the day.
The Hawks tallied a 330.70 average on the opening day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Chowan opened the event with a tough 596-702 loss to Bowie State.
Jasmine Basnight led the Blue and White with a score of 141.
Virginia Union handed the Hawks a 602-684 loss in the third match.
Chowan recovered in the final match of the day with a 766-718 victory over Virginia Union. The Hawks' 766 pin fall count was the highest team total for CU.
