MURFREESBORO, N.C.-The Chowan Women's Bowling team is set to open their 2018-19 season in Laurel, Md. at the CIAA North/South Event I hosted by Bowie State.

HAWKS PROFILE
The CIAA in conjunction with the Bowling Coaches Association announced the 2018-19 Bowling Predicted Order of Finish with the Hawks picked to finish fifth in the Northern Division.
Chowan was picked to finish eighth among the league with Bowie State as the top bowling contender this year.
The Hawks concluded their 2017-18 season with a 15-49 overall record.
Returning for the Blue and White is one individual All-Tournament bowler
Baylee Laxton who recorded a personal and season best at the 2018 CIAA Championships by scoring a 188 match high to lift the Hawks over Virginia Union for the 810-729 match win.
Also returning for the Hawks is senior,
Kailah Herbin who posted an average game pin fall of 130.2 and 5,229 pin count, while
Jasmine Basnight recorded a total pin count of 5,166 for the 17-18 season, averaging 123.7 a game.
Raven Finley-Flowers,
L'leah Laing,
Deja King, and
Genesis Oliver will add to the strength for the 18-19 campaign.
CIAA EVENT I
Chowan will begin play on Friday, November 9 in match play against conference opponents Virginia State, Virginia Union, Bowie State, and Elizabeth City State. Teams will continue match play through Saturday and conclude the tournament on Sunday November 11 in Baker Play. Â
