MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team opens the 2018 Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer Tournament on Monday against the sixth-seeded Barton Bulldogs.

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan dropped their regular season finale on the road at Belmont Abbey, but grabbed the third seed in the tournament with a 9-3-2 overall record. The Hawks moved up to sixth in the United Soccer Coaches Association Regional Poll and jumped into the NCAA Regional Poll sitting at sixth.
Trevin Myers leads the team with seven goals, Myers scored against Belmont Abbey on Friday. Harry Garstang has six goals and four assists.
Harry Ardron and Denis Roule sit with five and four goals respectively. Mitchell Levi Lewis picked up a single-season and conference leading 10th assist on the season.
Chowan is 4-2-1 on the season at home allowing six goals in seven matches. Chowan defeated Barton, 3-0, on October 15 in Wilson.
LEASHING THE BULLDOGS
Barton grabbed the sixth seed in the tournament with an 8-6-1 overall record. The Bulldogs have lost their last three matches entering the contest.
Ruben Mancio leads the Bulldogs with 11 goals on the season. Pol Monells is second on the team with seven goals and leads the team with six assists. Mancio scored eight of his goals in league play.
CONFERENCE CAROLINAS MEN'S SOCCER TOURNAMENT
Limestone grabbed the top seed and will host Mount Olive. Belmont Abbey moved to second to host Emmanuel.
Chowan will host Barton as the third and sixth seeds respectively. King hosts Lees-McRae in the final pairing as the fourth and fifth seeds.
The winner of each contest will appear in the Conference Carolinas semifinals at the highest remaining seed on Thursday, November 1 with the Championship match on Saturday, November 3.
