MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team welcomes defending National Champion, Wingate, to campus on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference battle at the Hawks Soccer Field. Kick-off is at 4pm.

HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan opened the season against Lander last weekend on the road falling to the Bearcats, 5-2. Despite the score, Chowan played strong for 70 minutes but could not overcome two penalty kick goals.
Denis Roule and
Lee Wattam netted goals for the Hawks.
James Scott and
Mitchell Levi Lewis tallied an assist in the loss.
ABOUT THE BULLDOGS
Wingate picked up their first win of the season in their season opener against Saint Leo at home on Friday, 4-2. The Bulldogs would turn around and drop their next contest to Rollins the following day, 2-1. Wingate was preseason number one in the United Soccer Coaches poll. With the loss, the Bulldogs dropped out of the Top-25. Wingate sits in seventh in the Southeast Region poll.
THE SERIES HISTORY
This marks the second meeting since 2007 for the Hawks and Bulldogs. The first meeting between the two came in 2008 as the Bulldogs grabbed the decisive victory.
