DUE WEST, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team dropped a Conference Carolinas contest to Erskine 2-1 on Saturday afternoon on a late goal.

Chowan's lone goal came off the foot of Denis Roule for his second goal of the season.
The Hawks played a man down for most of the match receiving a red card in 19'.
Chowan outshot the Fleet 13-4 and 9-3 on target shots. The Hawks recorded a 5-0 corner kick advantage.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half
Chowan started the match on the attack as Lee Wattam recorded a shot on frame in the first minute of action. Erskine keeper denied Wattam of the scoring attack.
As the physical match continued, both team picked up fouls and cards throughout the first half.
Late in the half, Erskine was called for a foul inside the box giving the Hawks a penalty kick in the 38'. Denis Roule connected on the PK to give the Hawks the 1-0 lead in the first half.
2nd Half
The physical match would carry over into the second half. Erskine found the equalizer in the 63' to tie the match at one.
Denis Roule looked for his second goal of the match in the 76' ripping a shot from short range but denied and cleared out of harms way.
The Flying Fleet would play a through ball up the middle of the pitch and past the back line of the Hawks' defense as Erskine would win the 1v1 for the 2-1 lead in the 80'.
In the 82', Barkan Koeprueluegil sent a dangerous header towards the cage but was snagged out of the air by the Erskine keeper to maintain the lead.
Chowan continued to push forward but unable to get a connection as time ran out on the Hawks.
