GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Chowan Men's Soccer team fell to the top-seeded and nationally ranked Limestone Saints, 3-0, in the Conference Carolinas Semifinals on Friday afternoon.

Limestone outshot the Hawks 12-5 in the match and 6-2 on frame shots.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half:
Limestone jumped out on attack in the opening portion of the match recording two shots with one hitting the post.
The Saints were able to find the back of the net in the 17' as the cross into the box was redirected and finding the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Two minutes later the Hawks almost found the equalizer as James Scott's heading attempt bounced off the keeper's hands and out of danger.
Trevin Myers notched a shot in the 39' minute but was unsuccessful missing wide right.
Limestone would take a 1-0 lead into the halftime whistle.
2nd Half:
The Hawks continued to compete against the tough opponent recording their first shot in the half in the 70' as Ben Chapman's attempt sailed wide.
Terell Williamson had a great look at goal in the 77' was saved and bounced off the keeper but no one for the Hawks were unable to get to the end of the deflection.
The Saints went on the counter attack a minute later and pushed their advantage to 2-0.
Limestone tacked on the final tally of the match in the 84' to push out in front 3-0.

James Scott was named to the Conference Carolinas All-Tournament Team.
The Hawks could still have a chance to make postseason play as Chowan is ranked #7 in the region. The NCAA Selection Show will take place on Monday, November 6.
