HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Quarter:

Michael Offutt Jr. picked up 34 yards on the ground during the drive before Isaiah Alexander found pay-dirt with a one yard scamper to give the Hawks a 7-0 lead.

The ensuing drive, Bowie State moved the ball into Chowan territory but the Hawks' defense stood tall forcing a 40-yd field goal.

Chowan would not be able to mount another drive in the quarter as the Hawks were forced to punt on their next drive.

Bowie State would not allow the Hawks to take the lead into the second quarter as the Bulldogs marched the ball down the field and score their first touchdown of the game as time expired in the quarter to take a 10-7 lead.

2nd Quarter:

The opening drive of the quarter looked promising for the Hawks as Chowan moved the ball on the ground.  The Hawks' drive would stall at their own 41 as a personal foul forced the Hawks to punt.

Bowie State's offense found a groove on the next two drives scoring quickly to push their lead to 24-7 with 3:02 remaining in the half.

Chowan had momentum on their next drive as Isaiah Alexander connected with Torry Baker for a 43-yd completion to move the ball into Bulldog territory at the BSU 31.  Facing a fourth and 10, Alexander found Ra'Cee Lucas on a 16-yd completion to give the Hawks a redzone opportunity.

The Bowie State defense held the Hawks out of the endzone as the Hawks settled for a Connor Killeen 31-yd field goal with 28 seconds remaining in the half.

BSU used 25 of the remaining 28 seconds to score quickly before the half to lead 31-10 at the halftime whistle.

3rd Quarter:

Bowie State continued to move the ball at-will marching the ball down to the CU 11 on just 12 plays.  Chowan's defense would force a BSU field goal as the Bulldogs led 34-10.

Trailing 41-10, Chowan's final drive of the quarter garnered no points as the Hawks turned the ball over on downs at the BSU 29.

4th Quarter:
