MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Soccer suffered their second loss of the season and first loss at home in a 3-0 setback by Belmont Abbey in the Conference Carolinas regular season finale on Friday, October 27.

Olivia Borer worked hard and often during the match as the goalkeeper saw 10 shots saving seven. Danielle Acree relieved Borer in cage stopping three shots in her 12:17 of action.
Sydney Henderson and Sabrina Henderson notched three shots each. The Hawks recorded only three shots on frame in the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half:
Chowan went on the attack early as Sydney Henderson's shot was blocked in the first minute of play.
Sabrina Henderson and Hope Kohl had shots saved in the fifth minute of action along with Mackenzie Imamura having a shot blocked.
Belmont Abbey broke the scoreless tie in the 37' as a through ball from midfield found a Crusader attacker for the 1-0 lead.
The Crusaders led 1-0 at the break.
2nd Half:
Chowan was unable to gain momentum as the Crusader defense kept the Hawks in the defense end of the field with only one shot.
Belmont Abbey widened their margin in the 67' and 68' scoring just 1:11 seconds apart to lead 3-0.
Danielle Acree kept the Crusaders off the board in the final 12 minutes of action stopping three shots.

Chowan is the number two seed in the Conference Carolinas Tournament and awaits the number seven seed. The pairings for the Conference Carolinas Tournament will be announced Saturday evening. The match-up will be held Monday, October 30.
