Box Score GREENVILLE, SC- The Chowan University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to North Greenville University on Friday evening. The Hawks look to bounce back from a 0-1 record after the season-opening loss while the Crusaders embark on the 2016 campaign 1-0.
The Crusaders struck early in the contest as Jaimie Shutt found the back of the net in the eighth minute of play with an unassisted goal. The Hawks kept North Greenville off the board for the remainder of the contest, but were unable to score, resulting in the 1-0 setback.
Chowan recorded three shots over the course of the contest.
Rebekah Beal,
Harriett Pallett and
Alex Paul each notched one shot in the setback with Beal and Pallett each accounting for one shot on goal.
Olivia Borer made five saves in goal for the Chowan Blue and White.
North Greenville recorded 16 shots over the course of 90 minutes of play, led by Megan Robertson with four shots. Sara Forrester and Tori Owens tallied three shots apiece for the Crusaders. Madelynn Schober made two saves in goal for North Greenville, earning the shutout win.
The Hawks return to action on September 4
th as Chowan travels to take on Emmanuel College. Match time is slated for 12pm.
