RICHMOND, VA - The Chowan University women's tennis team increased their win streak to four on Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 win over Virginia Union University in CIAA play.  The Hawks improve to 14-3 on the season and 6-0 against conference opponents with the victory. The Lady Panthers slip to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

Chowan swept Virginia Union in doubles and singles play to earn the win.

Polina Novachuk and Victoria Smolchenkova teamed up for a victory over Sabrina Connor and Logan Reid at the number one doubles position. Cynthia Carrier and Angelique Gouin blanked Amirah Eckles and Zsakee Crocker 8-0 in the number two position, while Destiny Chapman and Nacosia Massey were defeated 8-0 by Chowan duo Roxana Daneshjoo and Anna Makhneva in the third position.

The Hawks made quick work of the Lady Panthers in singles play as the Hawks won each of the six singles matches without dropping a set to secure the 9-0 victory.

Chowan returns to action on March 25^th when they host NC A&T at the Rose Family Tennis Complex.  Match time is scheduled for 12:00pm.
