SALISBURY, NC- The Chowan University women's cross country team finished in fourth place at the Blue Bear Invitational on Friday evening. Livingstone College won the meet with a team score of 37. Bluefield State College edged Saint Augustine's University to take home a second place finish with a team score of 47. The Lady Falcons had 48 points on Friday followed by the Hawks with 99 points.
Marta Briales of Bluefield State finished in first place in the 26-runner field. She finished the 5k in a winning time of 22:02.
Ashley Tackett led the effort for the Hawks. She finished in seventh place individually after crossing the finish line in 24:08.
Anna Makhneva followed in 18
th place with a time of 28:06.
Natalia Andrade posted a 23
rd place finish after completing the course in 31:28.
Chasity Henderson and
Rebeccah Noll finished in 25
th and 26
th place, respectively. Henderson completed the 5k run in 32:37 while Noll crossed the finish line at the 37:18 mark.
