WILSON, NC - The Chowan University women's cross country team competed in the Bulldog Invitational at Barton College on Friday evening.  The Hawks placed seventh out of the eight teams that competed in the 5k race with a total of 61 runners. The Hawks finished with a team score of 182.

Jomecka Deloatch finished in first place for the Hawks and 20^th overall crossing the finish line in 22:15.92. Just behind Deloatch, Ashley Tackett completed the race with a time of 22:59.81 and placed 24^th overall.  Natalia Andrade finished with a time of 28:53.01, while Chasity Henderson crossed the finish line in 30:30.72. Rounding out the scoring for the Blue and White, Kaila Harden finished with a time of 32:58.94.

Louisburg finished in first place out of the eight team entries with 44 points.  Stephany Sislava led the Hurricanes with a time of 20:04.98 and finished in first place overall.  The Meredith Avenging Angels grabbed second place with 58 points.

Chowan competes again next Friday when they travel to the Virginia Union University Invitational in Richmond, Virginia on September 18th.
