MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University athletic department announced the addition of
Holly Stambaugh to their staff on Thursday afternoon. She will serve as an Internal Operations Assistant and Assistant Tennis Coach for the Hawks.
Stambaugh will provide assistance to the department in various areas including compliance, athletic communications and operations while working with the men's and women's tennis teams. She noted, "I'm very excited to have the opportunity to transition from student to staff member at a university as successful and friendly as Chowan!"

Meredith Long added, "Holly will be a great addition to our staff. We will count on her to be a solid role model for our tennis student-athletes while serving the department in various capacities."
Prior to joining the staff at Chowan, Stambaugh was an associate agent at the North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Group. There, she was responsible for providing customers with property and casualty insurance needs and generating quotes and insurance applications.
Before her stint at the North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance Group, Stambaugh spent over six years as a legal assistant at Black, Noland and Read P.L.C. in Staunton, Virginia. Her responsibilities included working with real estate contracts and estate plan documents, electronic filings with the United States Courts, conducting case research and maintaining accounts payable and receivable for the firm.
Stambaugh earned a degree in Business Studies from Chowan University in 2014 after transferring from Mary Baldwin College. During her time at Chowan, Stambaugh was a two-year member of the women's tennis team. She was a key contributor to the Hawks' first CIAA Women's Tennis Championship in 2014 and earned All-CIAA and CIAA Tournament Most Valuable Player honors that same season.
She gained experience coaching tennis by running junior clinics and matches at the Jefferson Country Parks and Recreation Center as well as the National Junior Tennis League over the course of three summers.
Stambaugh resides in Como, North Carolina with her husband, Director of Tennis,
Chris Stambaugh.
