Box Score SPARTANBURG, SC- The Chowan University women's soccer team fell to 0-3 on the season with a 3-0 loss to Converse College on Sunday afternoon.  The Valkyries improve to 3-1 with the win. 

Converse College got on the board in the 9^th minute of the contest when Carla Keegan scored off a through ball from Anna Youmans.  The Valykries extended their lead to 2-0 when Keegan took advantage of a penalty kick in the 20^th minute of play.

A breakaway by Sarah Ingle led to another goal for the Valkyries.  Emily Barry was credited with the assist. 

Converse's defense kept the Hawks from recording a shot in the contest.  Joscelyn Wallace notched her second consecutive shut-out in goal for the Valkyries.  Marissa Ghani made 10 saves in goal for Chowan. 

The Hawks return to action on September 17^th when they host St. Andrews University at 4:00pm.
