RICHMOND, VA- The Chowan University women's tennis team earned a 9-0 CIAA Northern Division win over Virginia Union on Monday afternoon. The Hawks improve to 16-7 on the year and 9-0 in CIAA play with the win while the Lady Panthers slip to 1-8 overall and 1-6 in the league with the loss.
Every Hawk in the lineup earned a victory in doubles or singles play.
Natalya Kamenshchikova and
Holly Stambaugh teamed up for their 18
th doubles victory of the season in the number one spot while
Breanne Johnson and
Natalia Andrade notched their 13
th win as a pair.
Jessica De Backre and
Jennifer Humphrey earned a doubles win by forfeit.
In singles play, Kamenshchikova picked up her 19
th singles win in the number one position while Johnson earned her 16
th victory in the second spot. Stambaugh De Backre and Cleveland all earned their 14
th singles wins of the season. Andrade earned her 10
th of the season by forfeit.
The Hawks return to action on April 3
rd when they travel to Elizabeth City State for a CIAA Northern Division match-up. First serve is slated for 3:00pm.
