Box Score GREENVILLE, SC- The Chowan University men's soccer team earned a 5-0 win over Bob Jones University on Monday evening. The Hawks improve to 10-6 on the season while the Bruins slip to 5-10.
Bob Jones outshot the Hawks 16-10 over the course of the contest but Chowan capitalized on scoring opportunities to earn the win.
Marco Lujan and
Carlos Ramirez teamed up to earn the shutout win in goal for the Hawks. Although the Bruins had 16 shots in the game, none of them were on goal. Joseph Wooster made one save in goal for Bob Jones.
Christian Funes put the Hawks on the board in the 14
th minute of the contest using
Barkan Koeprueluegil's assist. With a 1-0 lead,
Terell Williamson scored two goals for the Hawks in the first half to put the game out of reach. His first goal came in the 19
th minute and the second in the 38
th minute.
Jordan Radisavljevic was credited with both assists.
Just 46 seconds into the second half, Funes found the back of the net again for the Hawks thanks to an assist by
Ben Chapman. Williamson secured the win for the Blue and White in the 67
th minute with an unassisted goal.
The Hawks return to action on October 29
th when they host Ohio Valley University. Game time is slated for 12:30pm.
