MECHANICSVILLE, VA- The Chowan University women's cross country team completed at the Cross Country Only National Invitational at Pole Park in Mechanicsville, Virginia on Friday morning. The Hawks were the only NCAA Division II team to compete in the meet.
Radford finished in first place in the NCAA Division I field with a team score of 29. Richmond earned a team score of 37, good for second place. Marshall earned a team score of 55 while Longwood earned a fourth place finish with a team score of 109.
Jomecka Deloatch set the pace for the Hawks as she trekked the 5k course in 21:26.
Crystal Louramore finished close behind at the 21:50 mark.
Finishing in third for the Hawks was
Ashley Tackett with a time of 23:47.
Gerlisa Shipman and
Shanequa Blow finished in fourth and fifth for Chowan, respectively. Shipman crossed the line in 24:18 followed by Blow at the 26:32 mark.
Taylor McElroy competed in the meet for the Blue and White as well. She completed the course in 27:59. Complete results are available
