MURFREESBORO – Joshua Gross scored his third goal of the season, but the relentless Barton offense proved too much, as the Bulldogs knocked off the Hawks, 6-1 on Wednesday.  Barton (8-4) tallied 36 total shots, and 18 shots on goal.  Chowan moves to 1-10 on the season.
 
The Bulldogs' Dante De Luca got the scoring going early.  He connected off an Erik Pajunk pass in the 10^th minute to put Barton up 1-0.  The duo struck again in the 18^th minute to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 advantage.
 
Late in the first period, Archer Bane pushed two goals past Hawks goalkeeper Ethan Phelps to give Barton a 4-0 halftime lead.  Phelps finished the game with 11 saves.
 
After a Barton goal in the 60^th minute, Chowan's Joshua Gross put the Hawks on the board will a goal off a Brandon Chambers assist.  Only 39 seconds later, however, Barton responded with their sixth goal of the contest.
 
Gross led the Hawks with three shots.  Chowan will next host Southern Virginia University on Saturday, October 15^th.  Game time is set for 3:00pm.
