Catawba Drops Chowan at Home

MURFREESBORO - The Chowan University men's soccer team fell to 0-7 after suffering a 5-0 loss to Catawba College this afternoon. The Hawks, who came off an overtime match yesterday with Greensboro that saw them get off a season high shots total, were held to just four shots on the day. Catawba collected 19 shots on their way to the shut out win.

The Indians struck first in the match with a goal in the 21st minute. They added their second goal in the 27th minute and took a 2-0 lead into halftime. They went on to score three unanswered goals in the second period.

Scott Cullen played just into the second period in goal for the Hawks but left the game due to an injury. He gave up four goals and had two saves. Brandon Chambers came in for Cullen, getting three saves and giving up one goal.

Chowan will hit the road for five straight matches, starting with Lincoln University on September 26th. They will return home on October 11th to host St. Andrews College at 3:00pm.
