MURFREESBORO - The Chowan University Women's Soccer team fell today in their 2010 debut  to Wingate University with a final score of 9-0. The Hawks managed to get off just two shots in the match while Wingate took 30 shots, 15 of which were on goal. Wingate exploded early in the match with three goals in the first seven minutes of play. They rolled to a 6-0 halftime lead and added three unanswered goals in the second period of play.

Chowan's Katie Duncan got two late looks at the goal and collected the team's only shots in the match. Ashley Cimino got the loss in goal, playing in place of Kristy Brown who was sitting out today's match due to an injury. Cimino gave up nine goals and collected six saves on the day.

Chowan falls to 0-1 while the Bulldogs improve their overall record to 2-1. 

The Hawks will host Catawba College this Sunday, September 12th in their next outing. Match time is set for 2:00pm.
