MURFREESBORO - The Chowan University women's soccer team fell 1-0 to North Greenville University this afternoon. Today's loss moves the Hawks to 2-5-2 on the year while the Crusaders improve to 3-4-3. NGU's Jade Salle scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute to propel her team to the shut out win.
Chowan had four breakaway opportunities, two in each half, and were inches from scoring with two shots hitting the post and one hitting the cross bar. The Crusaders out shot the Hawks in the match 17 to 12.
Chowan's keeper Kristy Brown had eight stops and one goal allowed in the match. Alaina Beasley had four shots for the Hawks, two of which were on goal.
Chowan falls to 2-5-2 on the season. They will host Barton College on Monday in their next outing. Match time is set for 4:00pm.
