MOUNT OLIVE, NC - The men's soccer team dropped to 0-3 on the season after losing a 6-1 decision at Mount Olive College tonight. The Hawks picked up their first goal of the season from Biez Neto in the 47th minute to end a two-game scoreless spell.
The Trojans edged the Hawks 25 to 6 in the total shots taken in the match and jumped out to an early 2-0 lead just three minutes into the match. They added a third goal in the 8th minute to get on top of Chowan 3-0 in the first 10 minutes of play.
Biez Neto took an Adam Smith through ball in for a score from 10 yards out in the 47th minute to give Chowan their first season goal but the Hawks fell with the final match score of 6-1.
Josh Cenci started in goal, allowed six scores and getting 10 stops in the match.
The Hawks, now 0-3 on the year, travel to St. Andrews on Saturday for a 2:30pm match up.
